Here is a little preview of graduation. David's school had senior awards day today. He got a cord for JROTC. We are getting excited. Only 2 more weeks!!

Field Trip
Today Stephen's class went to the Richmond Metro Zoo. It was lots of fun, lots of walking, and beautiful weather. We took pictures so we could share our memories with everyone. Enjoy!!

Where I Come From
Tuesday night I sat in on a Young Women's activity with Kacey and Bethany. They were doing a really cool activity about ancestors. They ended up writing a poem about their ancestors. I got to write one too. Here is mine.
Where I'm From:
I am from black eyed peas and lima beans on New Year's Day
From "Crest" Toothpaste and growing up in the "Hippie Era"
I am from a small cement block home on a dirt road
I am from 4th of July picnics and brown eyed blondes
From Grandmas who make your birthdays extra special
And a Sister who died tragically
From "I hope you have a dozen kids just like you"
And "Money doesn't grow on trees"
I am from converted Mormons thanks to Elders far from home
I am from Indians, Puritans, and Irish all stirred in a pot
I am from going fishin with grandpa and climbing fig trees
I am from scrapbooks and boxes of baby pictures and memories

Update on Tomato Plants
Mom pointed out that I had not updated the progress on my tomato plants. They are still alive. They are curving up toward the sun, but I think that as they start producing tomatoes they will straighten down. These are pictures I took this morning of them.

A Published Author At 8!
We got a letter home today telling us that Stephen is going to have a poem published. It will be published in a book called "A Celebration Of Young Poets". We are so very proud of him. He would like to share his poem with all of you.

Kings Dominion
We got Kings Dominion season passes this year. We love going and riding the rides. We went yesterday (saturday) for a little while. We found that this year Stephen is a little more daring and will ride some of the "bigger" rides. Here are some shots from our fun time. Enjoy!
